Veloura began with a simple frustration: modest wear that asked you to choose between covering and feeling beautiful. We didn't believe that trade-off was necessary. Somewhere between the souks of the Gulf and the ateliers of Europe, there was a version of the abaya that could hold both — full coverage, and the quiet confidence of something beautifully made.
Every Veloura piece starts with fabric first. We work almost exclusively in silk-crepe and matte crepe, chosen for how they fall rather than how they photograph. Gold trim is placed by hand, sparingly, along seams that are considered rather than decorative. Nothing is added simply because it can be.
We cut in small batches from our studio in the UAE, and every piece is finished by hand before it ships — to Dubai, to Abu Dhabi, to Karachi, to Lahore. It takes longer this way. We think it's worth it.
